The Vinyl Sustainability Council is raising the awareness of the council’s +Vantage Vinyl-verified companies by launching a collaboration with ecomedes. An online database for professionals seeking sustainable building materials, ecomedes seeks to optimize product procurement for architects, engineers and contractors who must achieve certain sustainability benchmarks in their construction projects.
Companies that earn the mark through VSC’s +Vantage Vinyl initiative must demonstrate its contribution to industry progress and continuous improvement in sustainability across all three sectors: social, economic and environmental. Verification through GreenCircle Certified, LLC authenticates and reports on the activities and key performance indicators achieved by each company within the five sustainability pillars: environmental stewardship, social diligence, economic soundness, collaboration and open communications.
Thus far in 2022, 17 companies have achieved +Vantage Vinyl verification and are included in the ecomedes database.
