Michael Hess has joined Perkins Eastman as principal in the New York studio. With 31 years of professional expertise, Hess is a leader in healthcare program development with a portfolio of design and planning work spanning across the United States, Asia and the Middle East. His deep understanding of strategic design practices in healthcare and several other key practice areas, as well as his demonstrated global experience, make him an invaluable asset to the firm.

After earning a Bachelor of Architecture and a CED in Urban Planning and Design from The Ohio State University, Hess dove into the world of healthcare design, holding leadership positions at several international design firms. An innovator, Hess is known for his expert ability to lead and successfully navigate complicated, high-quality projects from start to finish. He has effectively managed the strategic development, master planning and design of healthcare facilities, both domestic and international.

In addition to his design work, Hess is a prolific speaker who has presented at conferences around the world. With a clear-cut commitment to his clients and the industry, he has earned certifications from the American Society for Health Care Engineering and Lean Management Institute.
