Topping-Off Ceremony Held for 15-Story Medical Pavilion in New Jersey

A topping-off ceremony and beam signing for the 15-story steel frame of an ambulatory medical pavilion on the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital campus in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Scheduled for completion in the second quarter of 2023, the 229,000-square-foot facility will be master-leased to RWJBarnabas Health, increasing access to comprehensive care in the region.

Designed in close collaboration with RWJUH, the building will be defined by a curved glass exterior that will serve as a symbol of the hospital’s commitment to building healthier communities in New Brunswick, the region and as a destination for advanced specialty care.

Once completed, the pavilion will support RWJUH centers of excellence service lines in an outpatient setting and include exam rooms designed to enhance clinical practice workflows that focus on enhancing the patient experience. The facility will also feature a ground-floor lobby with a café and a connection to the adjacent public parking garage.

Developed by AST, construction is being overseen by Torcon, Inc. Architecture and mechanical engineering services are being provided by Jarmel Kizel, O’Donnell & Naccarato is managing structural engineering and Langan Engineering is leading civil engineering.
