New Interactive Design Diagram Available for Therapeutic ED Treatment Rooms

To support Evidence-Based Design, The Center for Health Design has released another web-based, annotated diagram, focusing on the therapeutic emergency department treatment room. These interactive and visually engaging renderings were created with a multi-year grant received from the Angelo Donghia Foundation and a partnership with BSA LifeStructures. Healing and safety design strategies are drawn from behavioral health-focused design interventions to inform an emergency department room that can improve outcomes for all. “The interactive design diagrams tool connects how design strategies might impact specific outcomes and the research supporting them, in a visual way,” said Debra Levin, Hon. FASID, EDAC, president and CEO, The Center for Health Design. “We’re looking forward to publishing additional room diagrams to support mental and behavioral health later this year.”
