Ann Chu, Assoc. AIA, has joined SBLM Architects as the new director of the Healthcare & Wellness Studio in the company’s New York City office. With over 25 years of experience in the healthcare field, Chu will lead the growth of the studio, expanding its project portfolio and design team. Her expertise will help reimagine healthcare spaces by bringing forward-thinking designs and programming to the studio’s projects.

Previously, Chu worked for 25 years at a Long Island, New York-based architectural firm, which she joined in 1996. Through her work, she collaborated with almost every department of a hospital, accruing a roster of clients that includes NYU Winthrop C.S.S, Montefiore Medical Center and New York Presbyterian Queens.

At SBLM Architects, Chu will work on a wide range of healthcare and wellness projects, particularly those that utilize new technologies in radiology and hybrid operating rooms.

“Healthcare plays such a special role in our world,” says Chu. “No matter what is going on around us, people’s health is always a priority, and this is something that has been made increasingly clear to everyone in light of the pandemic. I’m thankful for this exciting opportunity and I look forward to growing SBLM’s Healthcare & Wellness Studio together.”
