The International Code Council announced that the deadline to submit proposed changes to the 2022 Group B International Codes (I-Codes) is 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time, Jan. 10.
Group B includes administrative chapters for the I-Codes; structural provisions in the International Building Code; the International Existing Building Code; the building provisions in the International Residential Code and Chapter 1 of the International Green Construction Code. To submit proposals for the Group B codes, go to cdpACCESS.
The I-Codes are the most widely used and adopted set of modern building safety codes; they protect against fires, weather-related events, structural collapse and other disasters. The Code Council code development process is transparent, accessible and inclusive, and all interested parties are encouraged to participate.
“The integrity of the I-Codes are dependent on input from the building safety community,” said Code Council Senior Vice President, Technical Services, Michael Pfeiffer. “The hearings offer code officials, architects, builders, structural engineers, fire officials and building professionals an opportunity to provide input on proposed code changes to the Group B codes.”
The 2022 Committee Action Hearings will be held in person in Rochester, New York from March 27 through April 6. The hearings will be held in a single track with the schedule of codes to be determined. Code changes will be posted on or before Feb. 23. The hearing schedule will be posted approximately two weeks prior. You can find more information about the committee action hearings here.
