Construction of the new Taneja Center for Surgery at AdventHealth Tampa, located in Florida, is now complete. The six-story, 300,000-square-foot addition represents the largest surgical expansion in the Tampa Bay area, with 18 operating rooms and nearly 100 dedicated surgical care beds, as well as shell space for future expansion.
The tower features operating rooms designed to accommodate advanced surgical robotics, spacious private patient rooms, an expansive family waiting room and a light-filled lobby. The expansion also creates a new two-story atrium main entrance for the hospital. It adds to the existing 1 million square feet on the hospital’s campus.
A two-story, 20,000-square foot central energy plant to serve the expansion and support future growth was also built. The central energy plant was preceded by a six-level parking garage.
The project team includes construction firm Robins & Morton, architect HuntonBrady, mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineer TLC Engineering Solutions and hospital’s owner’s representative Jacobs Program Management.
Work on the project began in fall 2019 and involved more than 350 craft professionals at the peak of construction.
