Chris Krahn Earns National Design-Build Certification

HMC Architects’ Senior Project Manager Chris Krahn, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, Assoc. DBIA, has completed the Design-Build Institute of America’s comprehensive education, training and certification testing program to achieve the Design-Build industry’s designation as a nationally certified Associate Design-Build Professional.

Krahn has over 25 years of experience in planning, coordinating and administering projects of all sizes and seeing them through all phases of development. Located in HMC’s San Jose, California studio, Krahn directs, controls and monitors all project activities to help clients realize their vision for beautiful and functional spaces for healing.

He supports several healthcare clients across the state and is managing the design team on Santa Clara Valley Medical Center’s emergency department expansion — a $52-million, 55,000-square-foot renovation — which expands the existing department, adds 38 new exam rooms and doubles the waiting room capacity.
