HMC Architects’ Senior Project Manager Marty Fifer, AIA, NCARB, DBIA, EDAC, has recently achieved certification through the Design-Build Institute of America as an Associate Design-Build Professional.
Fifer’s experience in healthcare architecture spans nearly every project type and delivery method. As a senior project manager in HMC’s Los Angeles studio, he supports several healthcare clients across California, including serving on the team designing the Clovis Community Medical Center Hospital and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles Emergency Department expansion projects.
Growing up, Fifer listened as his mother, a nurse, would lament not being able to provide the care she and her team wanted to — mostly due to inefficient spaces, poor lighting and ventilation and wasteful systems. The fact that efforts in design innovation and Lean practices can provide better experiences for patients and healthcare professionals has been a significant motivation throughout his career.
