NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital officials recently celebrated the opening of its new Center for Community Health, an ambulatory care facility in Park Slope. The project team included Lendlease and Perkins Eastman.
Constructed from the ground up, the 400,000-square-foot facility houses 12 operating rooms for ambulatory surgery, surgical prep and recovery space, central sterile services department, cancer center with a compounding pharmacy and pre-anesthesia evaluation area. The Center for Community Health also features suites for gastroenterology and endoscopy, multispecialty medical and surgical services and a diagnostic imaging center that includes PET-CT and MRI modalities. It has a valet-staffed parking facility, grab-and-go cafe, conference center, comfortable sky lobby waiting areas and staff dedicated to helping patients and visitors navigate the building.
The Center for Community Health is also pursuing a LEED Silver rating.
