McMillan Pazdan Smith has hired Minta Ferguson as director of planning. Ferguson’s new role will weave together her professional disciplines of planning, strategy, finance and operations. She is looking forward to strengthening the firm’s foundation in research and development and thought leadership, as well as expanding their pre-design service offerings.

Ferguson received a Professional Bachelor of Architecture degree from Virginia Tech in 2007, but knew she wanted to do great things in architecture going all the way back to grade school. As her career has developed, she developed a passion for making positive changes through community health and wellness.

She has earned a professional reputation for crafting innovative facility solutions by leveraging experience and data from strategic facility master plans, market analysis, facility condition assessments, operational improvement and architectural design. Her healthcare planning and design work includes projects for nonprofit and for-profit clients, as well as the Army and Veteran’s Administration. Her project experience ranges from rural health to urban trauma centers and national healthcare systems.

Ferguson comes to McMillan Pazdan Smith after eight years at Catalyst, A Haskell Company, as their director of planning after starting there as a senior healthcare planner in 2013.
