The Illuminating Engineering Society and the Facility Guidelines Institute announced a memorandum of understanding enabling future collaboration on consensus-based guidelines and publications. Both parties seek to advance lighting knowledge and improve the quality of lighting in healthcare facilities through this MOU.
The IES and FGI have agreed to establish a mutually beneficial relationship between the parties; encourage coordination among each organization’s documents, where appropriate and, when mutually beneficial, create joint documents, share in educational opportunities, designate committee representatives and advocate for each other’s organization. Potential research projects and increased participation in committee activities are anticipated.
“Formalizing our long-standing relationship with FGI was a natural progression,” shares IES Executive Director Tim Licitra. “We’re eager to continue building upon the foundation of each of our organizations to improve life through quality of light in healthcare facilities.”
