5-Story Tower Expansion Serves Growing Number of Patients in Las Vegas
Construction on a five-story patient tower expansion for Centennial Hills Hospital, located in Las Vegas, Nevada, is complete. SR Construction was the design builder, overseeing all design and construction work. Within the project team, HDR served as the architect of record.
In addition to adding 72 patient beds, the new tower also includes two floors of shell space for an additional intensive care unit, as well as intermediate and medical surgical units. Ground was broken on the tower in October 2019, and SR completed all construction phases for the project in November 2020, delivering the finished product to the client four months ahead of schedule.
In November 2020, Centennial Hills Hospital announced the opening of The Birthplace within the new tower, adding two labor and delivery suites along with 36 mother-baby suites. Following that opening, the hospital opened its new 36-bed nursing unit in the tower in December, offering much-needed capacity to serve the growing number of patients.
