    LS3P Hires William Schlein as Healthcare Practice Leader

    William “Willy” Schlein, AIA, joins LS3P as healthcare practice leader. He will lead the firmwide healthcare team, offering expertise and support to all eight offices.

    Schlein has over 25 years of healthcare experience in programming, planning, design, project management and construction. His previous experience includes roles as director of healthcare architecture, principal and office director at firms in South Carolina, Texas, California and Arizona; he was also president and founder of Anthrotects, a firm he established  to design the keystone services of a new “medical city” featuring a 300-bed hospital, cancer center and MOB under construction in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

    Schlein holds a Master of Architecture + Health Studio from Clemson University, and is a frequent conference speaker and presenter on a variety of healthcare design topics. He is also actively engaged in professional and community leadership, with service including the Vision  5 advisory board of the Washington, D.C. Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning & Economic Development for the McMillan Reservoir, a new healthcare campus in an underserved community of D.C.; board of directors and education chair of the AIA and founding chairman of the AIA South Atlantic Region Architecture for Health Inaugural Conference.
