NorthBay Medical Center’s three-story North Wing, located in Fairfield, California, has been completed.
The 77,000-square-foot wing includes 22 patient rooms, eight high-tech surgical suites, a 16-bed post-anesthesia care unit, diagnostic imaging, a new kitchen and café and a new central sterile department. The $200-million project was integral to a five-year modernization project. The project team included Ratcliff Architects, DPR Construction and Petra.
New, freshly painted walls provided an empty canvas to fill with vibrant, unique art selections, and touched off a decision to upgrade art throughout the hospital. The result was 84 paintings, photographs, sculptures and other pieces of art highlighted throughout the wing. In addition, new selections have replaced older pieces that had been on the walls for more than a decade or two.
