Members of The S/L/A/M Collaborative Healthcare Practice have recently achieved healthcare design certifications. Kathy Bell, AIA, ACHA, associate and Melissa Anthony, healthcare designer, have recently attained Lean Healthcare Certification from Central Connecticut State University’s Continuing Education program. Tracy Caisse, AIA, EDAC, senior associate, has recently passed the Evidence-Based Design Accreditation and Certification exam.
Bell is a senior healthcare planner and research/educational coordinator and Anthony is a designer, both who were part of the team that received the 2019 ASHE Vista Award for SLAM’s work on the MC2020 Campus Refresh at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, Massachusetts. The team implemented Lean methodologies to guide the project’s transformative design and ready the hospital’s process for continuous improvement. Community, communication and continuity of service drove this project to successful completion.
Caisse is a senior associate serving as a designer and healthcare planner who manages and provides technical expertise for the firm’s national healthcare and medical education projects.
