EYP Hires Ricardo Socorro as Senior Medical Planner

EYP Architecture & Engineering has hired Ricardo Socorro, AIA, LEED GA, as senior medical planner for the company’s Houston, Texas office. In this role, Socorro will focus on promoting the firm’s capabilities in innovative design through project management and client relations.

With over two decades of industry experience, Socorro has demonstrated success in hospital planning and design for a broad range of national and international healthcare systems. His notable projects include the University of Texas Medical Branch, the University of Pennsylvania and the Mount Elizabeth Parkway Novena Hospital.

Prior to joining EYP, Socorro served as senior healthcare planner at HDR, Inc., where he was responsible for the planning of healthcare and research facilities, as well monitoring trends in healthcare delivery and the impact of new concepts of patient and staff flow, as it relates to medical planning.

Socorro holds a Bachelor of Architecture and Urbanism from the Universidad Central of Venezuela in Caracas. He is an active member of the American Institute of Architects and Boston Society of Architects.
