The sixth annual CxEnergy Conference & Expo will begin with a look into the future. The advent of 5G-enabled technologies will vastly disrupt many industries and CxEnergy has invited Steve Schmerber, director of field application engineering, CommScope, to speak at the Opening Plenary session about how it may impact the professions of energy management and commissioning. CxEnergy 2019 is being held April 15-18 in Orlando, Florida.
5G is the fifth generation of cellular mobile communications. It will enable exponentially higher data transmission rates, advance efficiency and allow for massive device connectivity. Schmerber is an expert in the field and will discuss 5G’s implications for topics ranging from the Internet of Things, data centers and data analytics.
The 5G presentation is one of many examples of education and training opportunities provided by CxEnergy. Attendees will earn AIA and other industry certification continuing education credits for presentations that include case studies and topics in building envelope/enclosure commissioning, technology & innovation, energy management, commissioning specialty systems, policy & financial issues, lighting, water management, data centers, microgrids, energy storage, demand response programs, infrared technology and more.
