Palos Health Completes State-of-the-Art Campus Expansion

Cutting-edge imaging, laboratory technology, comprehensive cancer care, outpatient surgery center (opening fall 2018) and outpatient clinics are among the features of the new 83,000-square-foot expansion at Palos Health’s South Campus, located in Orland Park, Illinois.

Built by Walsh Construction, the expansion project is part of a partnership between Palos Health and Loyola Medicine. The expansion has a 25,000-square-foot specialty and primary care clinic that features 47 exam rooms, two procedure rooms, an X-ray area and space for other medical services.

Outpatient surgery has been added to the hospital’s services through a 17,000-square-foot surgery center that will open this fall, along with four operating rooms and 15 preoperative and postoperative rooms.

A 13,000-square-foot radiation oncology center will house Illinois’ first MRIdian cancer radiation system, which delivers MRI imaging and targets tumors with millimeter precision. Palos Health’s imaging and lab are being renovated as part of this project. Additional features of the expansion include a contemporary conference center with two conference rooms and seating for 100, and a new rooftop garden. The building will also include 10,000 square feet of additional space that can be used for future expansion.

HED served as architect on the expansion project.
