Kahler Slater Hires National Design Project Leader to Strengthen Mid-Atlantic Team

Barbara Mellema was hired as project leader – healthcare to strengthen Kahler Slater’s growing Mid-Atlantic team, where her national expertise in healthcare planning and design will support complex project work for the firm’s healthcare clients.

Mellema has more than 23 years of progressive experience as a healthcare planner and project manager. Most recently she worked for GBBN Architects in Cincinnati, Ohio. Prior to that, she was a senior associate at CannonDesign in Baltimore, Maryland.

Notable past clients for Mellema include the University of Kentucky Medical Center, University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, Virginia Treatment Center for Children at VCU in Richmond, Polytrauma Neuroscience Center of Excellence at Virginia Area Medical Center in Richmond and Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C.
