New Multi-Specialty Clinic Delivers Personalized Care in One Convenient, Welcoming Space
BURLINGTON, Vt. – Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital officials recently celebrated the opening of the Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital Multi-Specialty Clinic. The new 44,000-square-foot facility, located on the APD campus in Lebanon, New Hampshire, will house most of the hospital’s outpatient services in one location. E4H served as architect on the project, with DEW Construction as general contractor.
Brought into one central location in the new clinic are services including primary and family care, pediatrics, women’s care, diagnostic imaging, phlebotomy, orthopedics, general surgery and physical and occupational therapy. The two-story building is designed to improve patient and staff flow, communication and convenience.
Some of the distinctive planning and design elements of the facility include:
- Use of modular planning concepts to create flexible practice spaces for providers
- Standardized exam room layouts for use by any provider regardless of specialty helps to increase utilization rate
- Integration and use of daylight into the interior spaces by thoughtfully locating waiting areas, check-in/check-out points, and corridors with access to exterior windows
- Use of collaborative work space for providers – “on-stage” areas for focused work while providing care to patients, and “off-stage” areas for private time between patients
