Northwell Health’s Huntington Hospital ED Earns LEED Gold Certification

Northwell Health’s Huntington Hospital emergency department, located in New York, has officially achieved LEED Gold certification. The project team included CannonDesign and Hunter Roberts.

The design of the new ED focuses on extensive water use reduction, strong energy performance, enhanced commissioning, low-emitting materials and construction waste management. Collectively, these measures helped the project earn enough points for the certification.

The hospital expanded its ED to support the community’s growing need for services. The resulting space doubles its predecessor in size and significantly increases capacity, while improving efficiency and patient outcomes.
