RALEIGH, N.C. – Architects and designers from EYP Health (formerly WHR Design PC) recently celebrated the opening of the new North Carolina Heart & Vascular Hospital with hospital administrators, physicians, clinical staff, donors and other building team members.
The eight-story, 306,000-square-foot Heart & Vascular Hospital, which consolidates all of UNC Rex’s cardiac care together in one location housing eight cath labs, two electrophysiology procedure rooms, two hybrid procedure rooms and a cardiac rehab facility.
The new hospital is a holistic environment with programs and spaces that support well-being throughout the facility. Among the amenities are a conference center with a demonstration kitchen that is a part of the cardiac rehab program, a meditation/sacred space and a variety of waiting spaces — family pods, away spaces and spaces near interactive art and displays.
