DALLAS, Texas – The CallisonRTKL-designed Warren Clinic projects took home the 2016 International Interior Design Association Texas/Oklahoma Chapter Excellence in Design Award, in the Healthcare (Small) category, at the recent Inspire16 Gala + Excellence Awards ceremony. IIDA provides a forum for design professionals to demonstrate their impact on the health, safety, well-being and virtual soul of the public and for balancing passion for good design with strategy for best business practices.

The CallisonRTKL team utilized a modular health prototype concept to design the interior layout of the clinics, turning the traditional clinic inside-out and allowing it to adapt in various configurations for multiple sites. This method enhances flexibility and efficiency for staff and provides patients with more privacy.

In order to reinforce the Saint Francis Health System’s brand, the legacy of the client and its connection to the community it serves, the design team incorporated the color pink, a dominant exterior feature of Saint Francis Health System’s flagship hospital, through an exterior glass wall. The team also incorporated a “Light from Above” using natural light as a primary driver in the interior design to provide patients and staff with a more enjoyable experience within.

The Warren clinics, located in the Tulsa, Oklahoma area, include South Memorial (built by Cowen Construction), Tulsa Hills (built by Rupe Building Company) and North Broken Arrow (built by Ross Group).
