New Proton Therapy Center, Medical Campus Planned for Orange County
ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. –Provision Healthcare and Hamlin Retail Partners West, an affiliate of Boyd Development Corporation and Schrimsher Properties, have established a joint venture to develop and operate a proton therapy center as part of a medical campus in Hamlin, Florida, an 850-acre mixed-use town center development in southwest Orange County.
Construction on the proton therapy center is scheduled to start in the second quarter of 2017 and will be operated by Provision. It is projected as many as 800-900 patients per year will be treated at the proton center and will create jobs for about 100 clinical and administrative employees.
The 25-acre medical campus will be part of Hamlin Town Center West, a 130-acre mixed-use component of Hamlin, which is located at the SR 429 and New Independence interchange – surrounded by one of the fastest growing communities in the country including Windermere, Winter Garden and the Horizon West area of West Orange County. Hamlin’s proton therapy treatment center will be a three treatment room center and will utilize the state-of-the-art proton systems technology of ProNova Solutions, an affiliate of Provision.
