Work Starts on $23M Health Clinic Modernization Project

Renovations have begun at the Branch Health Clinic, located on the Naval Station in Kings Bay, Georgia. The 60,000-square-foot modernization project includes the design and repair of existing medical and dental space.

The Naval Branch Health Clinic at Kings Bay is the primary care facility for all active duty personnel and their families stationed at the base. The facility houses outpatient healthcare, including primary medical care (medical home port), immunizations, behavioral health, optometry, physical therapy, preventive medicine, radiology, dental, medical administration, undersea medicine and pharmacy.

The scope of work includes extensive floor plan alterations, modifications to structural components, minor site work and a comprehensive replacement of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, telecommunications, fire alarm and sprinkler systems, as well as medical equipment and furniture, fixtures and equipment.

A phased construction schedule will enable the facility to remain occupied and fully operational during the modernization and renovation. When complete, the facility is expected to receive USGBC LEED Silver certification.

The project team includes The Korte Company and Gresham, Smith and Partners.
