Bridgeport Hospital’s Park Avenue Campus Outpatient Center in Trumbull, Connecticut provides a new level of access to quality outpatient care in southwestern Connecticut, with a range of hospital and health system services that includes ambulatory surgery, cancer treatment, radiology, urgent and primary care and breast care. The project team included Gilbane Building Co. and Shepley Bulfinch.
The new 100,000-square-foot, three-story facility creates a hub for a unified patient care campus, joining two existing buildings that house radiation oncology and medical offices that will undergo a 20,000-square-foot renovation.
Sheltered by a generous canopy, the patient drop-off at the main entrance conveys a sense of welcome, with easy access to all services from the lobby. An enclosed bridge connects to an adjacent 525-car garage. The design brings nature into the space, with views of a healing garden from the center’s glass-walled corridors.
