Recognized for exemplary collaboration and integration in Design-Build project delivery, the award-winning projects were evaluated by a panel of experts in Design-Build project delivery.

The Sharp Mesa Vista expansion and modernization project occurred in a fully occupied and operational acute psychiatric hospital. With over 5,000 inpatient discharges a year, the 1960’s-era facility is San Diego County’s largest privately operated psychiatric hospital.

Over six construction phases, three buildings were renovated to provide the facility’s diverse patient groups and treatment programs with a modern, safe and healing-oriented space that will serve the local community for several generations.

The project team included Swinerton Builders, Cuningham Group Architects, TTG Engineers and McParlane & Associates.
