Larry Wilson, P.E., LEED AP, as recently joined SmithGroupJJR at its Chicago, Illinois office.
He joins as a senior mechanical engineer, providing design leadership for both the Chicago office and the firm’s national healthcare practice. He previously served as a director at PositivEnergy Practice, a consulting engineering firm focused on providing integrated professional services to building and city projects around the world.
With 34 years of experience, Wilson has served a wide range of clients across various markets including healthcare, science and technology and commercial/mixed-use. He is particularly passionate about healthcare design and widely recognized in the industry for his expertise in sustainable, high-performance system design, including those for Northwestern Memorial Hospital’s new Prentice Women’s Hospital, Chicago, Illinois and Saint Joseph’s Regional Medical Center, Plymouth, Indiana.
Wilson is a member of Hospital Engineers Society of Northern Illinois; National Society of Professional Engineers; National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveyors and the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Engineers. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in in Mechanical Engineering from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
