INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Scott Cormier has recently been named Medxcel Facilities Management’s vice president of emergency management, environment of care and safety. In this role, Cormier will lead the development and implementation of emergency management, general safety, security, fire protection, life safety and accident-prevention programs for a national network of hospitals.
Cormier has more than 30 years of experience in emergency preparedness, health and safety and counterintelligence operations. Prior to joining Medxcel Facilities Management, he served as the senior director of emergency preparedness and management for Hospital Corporation of America. His experience also includes work as a civilian contractor to various branches of the United States Armed Forces, and was a non-commissioned officer in the United States Marine Corps Reserve. In addition, Cormier is an instructor at Louisiana State University teaching weapons of mass destruction courses for the National Center for Biomedical Research and Training, Academy of Counter-Terrorist Education.
Cormier earned a bachelor’s degree from Thomas Edison State College. He has been published in nearly 20 scholarly journals and holds more than 20 professional certifications, including Certified Healthcare Emergency Professional, Department of Homeland Security Certified Instructor, Weapons of Mass Destruction Instructor, EMT-Paramedic Instructor and more.
