Mike Wood, director of healthcare market development for Oldcastle, has been elected to serve as The Health Care Institute’s next president. Effective September 2015, Wood will replace Leo Gehring, who will continue to serve the institute as immediate past president.
For Oldcastle, Wood is responsible for building and managing the company’s Healthcare Integrated Delivery business, working with internal business units and various markets to serve planning, design and construction professionals, as well as owners. He assists clients by providing design information and custom-manufactured products and supply chain functions associated with large-scale healthcare capital efforts. Among other activities, Wood formerly served as facilities director for Kaiser Permanente.
Wood holds certifications and licenses in healthcare project management, facilities management, healthcare construction, radiologic technology, emergency medicine and real estate brokerage. He is a past regional vice president of IFMA, past president of two IFMA Chapters and past CAHED (Colorado Association of Healthcare Engineers & Directors) board member. He has worked for several world-class organizations and owned several businesses associated with the advanced use of technology, healthcare, organization development and program management.
