RTKL and Mobil Arquitectos are the designers of Clinica Las Condes Phase 1 Expansion Project, winner of the Design & Health International Academy Awards 2015 in the Health, over 40,000-square-meters category.
The Design & Health International Academy Awards recognizes professional excellence in the research and practice of designing healthy built environments.
Affiliated with Johns Hopkins Medicine International and accredited by the Joint Commission, RTKL and Mobil Arquitectos, the primary objective with CLC was to create a holistic, patient-centered experience in the urban district of Las Condes in Santiago, Chile.
Redefining the existing campus, the 125,000-square-meter facility incorporates advanced technologies and hotel-like environments with plazas, gardens, water features, hospitality-style finishes and furniture, artwork and light-filled spaces. By utilizing sustainability practices such as energy recovery, parametric energy modeling and lifecycle cost analysis, the project fundamentally improves the efficiency of the hospital and creates a new paradigm for the region.
