HOUSTON, Texas — FKP Architects is strategically expanding its Science and Education studio with laboratory design specialist, Jan Madey. Madey joins FKP as senior project manager and laboratory planner.
Madey’s focus in laboratory planning and design includes labs for bio-containment, animal research and life sciences. He has been a grant reviewer for several National Institutes of Health grants for animal research and clinical facilities and a presenter at the Labs 21 National Conference (now known as the International Institute for Sustainable Laboratories).
Madey earned his master’s degree in architecture with a town planning specialization from Gdansk University of Technology in Poland. He also played volleyball for the Polish and American national teams.
FKP’s Science and Education team portfolio includes the new Texas A&M Heath Science Center Bryan Campus Master Plan and the first two buildings built there, along with the Rice University Bioscience Research Collaborative and Texas Children’s Hospital Feigin Research Center.
