He is also leading the firm’s $90-million renovation and expansion of Craig Hospital, Englewood, Colorado, a rehabilitation hospital specializing in the treatment of spinal cord and traumatic brain injuries. Other noteworthy clients for Patterson include Banner Health Corporation, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and the Capital District Health Authority, Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Patterson is accredited by the American College of Healthcare Architects and serves on its Next Practices Committee. Additionally, he earned his Evidence-Based Design Accreditation and Certification from the Center for Health Design and is a member of the organization’s Research Coalition.

A long-time member of the American Institute of Architects, Patterson’s involvement has spanned both the national and chapter levels. He is a member of the AIA Academy of Architecture for Health Research Committee, and in 2014 served as a juror for the AIA National Health Design Awards program.
