SAN ANTONIO, Texas — O’Connell Robertson announced that Walter Marks II, AIA, is the firm’s new healthcare team director in San Antonio, Texas. Marks has more than 25 years of experience designing healthcare environments in Texas that contribute to positive patient outcomes and staff satisfaction.
His experience as an architect and project manager involves a variety of new construction and renovation projects, including clinics, hospitals, medical office buildings and specialty centers for clients such as Parkland Hospital in Dallas, Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas, Presbyterian Hospital of Plano, Christus St. Joseph’s Hospital, Christus Spohn, UTSWMC, UTHSC in Tyler, Baylor University Medical Center, Baylor Medical Center at Garland, St. Michael Hospital in Texarkana, Hermann Hospital in Houston and Memorial Hospital Southwest in Houston.
Marks’ most recent assignment was as architect and medical planner for King Khalid Medical City, a 16.5-million-square-foot project now under construction in Saudi Arabia that will feature a 4,500,000-square-foot tertiary care hospital, 5,000 housing units, a recreation center and parking garage.
His extensive experience in healthcare architecture, combined with an understanding of Evidence-Based Design and a passion for excellence, has resulted in creative, sustainable and functional solutions for all kinds of healthcare facilities.
