INDIANAPOLIS and CARMEL, Ind. — Two Indianapolis, Ind.-headquartered companies – St.Vincent Carmel Hospital and Duke Realty – have broken ground for an 85,847-square-foot St.Vincent Women’s Center in Carmel, about 30 minutes north of Indianapolis.
The four-story facility, which will be located on the campus of St.Vincent Carmel Hospital and connected to the hospital and adjacent medical office buildings, will be developed, owned and managed by Duke Realty. The facility will house a women’s center, pharmacy, café and boutique on the first floor; physical therapy, maternal fetal medicine practice and timeshare space for physicians on the second floor and physician offices on the third and fourth floors.
“The new women’s center will allow us to relocate and consolidate our nearby women’s services into one convenient location,” explains Mike Chittenden, president, St.Vincent Carmel Hospital. “By designing the facility to be directly connected to our hospital and other medical office buildings, it will enable our female patients to easily move through the campus to receive high-quality care in a wide variety of medical specialty areas. We expect this will provide an exceptional women’s healthcare experience.”
“We have partnered with St.Vincent on healthcare projects for many years,” says Keith Konkoli, Duke Realty senior vice president, Healthcare. “We are pleased to have another opportunity to work with St.Vincent in developing what will be a tremendous community asset.”
BSA LifeStructures is the architect on the project and Brasfield & Gorrie is the general contractor. The facility is expected to be completed in December 2014.
