Brasfield & Gorrie Begins Expansion Project at Northwest Medical Center
Orlando, Fla. — Brasfield & Gorrie recently announced the start of construction on a $14-million expansion project for HCA Healthcare at Northwest Medical Center in Margate, Fla.
This multi-phased project involves expansion and renovations to the first-floor Emergency Department of the medical facility. The project includes approximately 11,700 square feet of renovation and 24,300 square feet of expansion to the existing ED.
The expansion will add 31 exam rooms, two trauma suites, new ambulance and walk-in entrances with reception and waiting areas, and support spaces to serve these areas.
Other aspects of the project include modifications to the existing central energy plant with the replacement of a chiller and cooling tower, as well as an expansion and renovation of the Florida Power and Light vault and electrical room.
Brasfield & Gorrie will serve as the general contractor for the project, working with architect Gresham Smith & Partners.
The project is expected to complete in spring 2015.
