LOS ANGELES, Calif. –HGA Architects and Engineers has hired Stan Chiu, AIA, LEED AP, as a principal in its Los Angeles, Calif. office.
Chiu has more than 20 years of experience directing design projects for such clients as Kaiser Permanente, Sutter Health, Mayo Clinic, University of Southern California, Los Angeles Harbor College and East Los Angeles College.
Chiu is an industry leader in Lean design and Integrated Project Delivery. He has helped develop such core Lean IPD tools as Target Value Design and Set Based Design, which manage integrated design building system development and comprehensive construction costs.
Before joining HGA, Chiu was with another national firm in Los Angeles, where he served domestic and international markets. He previously worked with HGA from 2004 to 2010.

Chiu has a Master of Architecture from the Graduate School of Design at Harvard University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Sculpture from Wesleyan University. He is a LEED Accredited Professional.
Chiu has authored numerous articles on architecture, healthcare delivery and Lean design for national trade journals, and has lectured on Lean IPD at AIA conferences, Lean Construction Institute conferences, University of California Berkeley, California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo and Disney Imagineering, among other venues.
