CHICAGO, Ill. — Cannon Design, a leading international design firm, is pleased to announce that Terence Houk, AIA, has joined Cannon Design as vice president.

Houk_RWith a career spanning over 25 years in healthcare facilities planning and design, Houk brings a deep insight of healthcare functional operations, strategic thinking and innovative approaches to his design work.

In his new role, Houk will be part of the team responsible for the strategic growth of Cannon Design’s Central Region practice—leading its client engagement and business development initiatives.  As a member of the firm’s overall health practice, he will offer his talents, experience and innovative approach to engagements nationwide.  “We are excited to have Terry join our team, where his experience in client advocacy and understanding of challenges facing our clients today will add much value,” adds Natalie Petzoldt, Central Region health practice leader.

Prior to joining Cannon Design, Houk was senior designer for HDR Architecture in Chicago, where he led design teams on numerous large hospital projects throughout the country.

Having been actively engaged in the American Institute of Architects Health Knowledge Community in Chicago, Houk recently championed a Generative Space Student Charette and Cancer Care Series of six lectures. A frequent presenter at industry forums and a published author, Houk holds a Bachelor of Architectural Studies from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
