The COTE Top Ten Green Projects program seeks to identify and recognize the benefits of a high performance, sustainable design approach; to educate the architectural community and the public at large on the increased value that sustainable design provides for developers, building owners and occupants and to acknowledge architects as experts in the creation of energy conscious and environmentally responsible design solutions.

New in 2013, past AIA COTE Top Ten Awards winners with actual performance data for a minimum of one year are eligible for the new AIA COTE Top Ten Plus Award. Award recipients are projects that have been previously recognized for design excellence, and for which verifiable baseline design metrics are readily available.

    Eligibility
All architects licensed in the United States are eligible to submit entries, regardless of project size, budget, style, building type or location.

Entries are welcomed and encouraged from both established and new practitioners and designers and from small firms and large. New buildings, interior architecture, renovations/restorations and completed urban and regional plans are eligible.

    Entry Fee
An architect or firm may submit more than one project, but each project requires payment of a separate non-refundable registration fee.

    $325 (AIA members); $450 (nonmembers)

    Award Recognition
The awarded projects will receive significant recognition, including acknowledgement in AIA publications, electronic media and at the 2014 AIA National Convention and Design Exposition in Chicago, Ill.

Recipients may be asked by the AIA Communications department, or by various media representatives, for additional information about their projects. All submitted materials will become property of the American Institute of Architects.

    Submit Your Project
You can register and log in to submit your project data, images and legal release forms. There is also a separate registration system where you must submit your payment to the AIA so your user name and password will be different.

Read the Call for Entries document for overall information about this program and additional resources. There is also a downloadable file listing all the input fields for your planning purposes.
