MARYLAND HEIGHTS, Mo. — Ranken Jordan – A Pediatric Specialty Hospital, has approved and appointed Derek Glanvill , president & chief operating officer, McCarthy Building Companies, Inc., as a new member to its board of directors. Glanvill will serve a three-year term for the 34-bed Maryland Heights, Mo. hospital.

Derek_Glanville_4x5_downsize_to_300dpi_R“We’re very excited about the passion and commitment exhibited by Derek as our newest board member,” said Lauri Tanner, president and CEO of Ranken Jordan. “He really supports our mission and our commitment to very sick and seriously injured kids. He has a special connection because one of his three children is a former inpatient at Ranken Jordan. Derek understands the importance of Ranken Jordan’s role within the continuum of care.”

“It is truly an honor to be selected to serve on the Ranken Jordan board,” commented Glanvill. “As one of just a handful of pediatric care facilities of its kind in the nation, children and families from St. Louis and beyond turn to Ranken for critical medical services. Their outstanding care and ongoing support offer hope to families in sometimes seemingly hopeless situations.  I am very thankful for Ranken Jordan allowing me to be a part of this effort.”

Glanvill has more than 30 years of experience in the construction industry and has focused on a broad spectrum of national and international markets.  In addition to his work at McCarthy, Glanvill actively participates in a wide variety of civic and charitable endeavors.  He has been a board member of many local organizations and is founder and president of The Sean Glanvill Traumatic Brain Injury Foundation, dedicated to pediatric brain injury care, rehabilitation and research.

Glanvill holds a Bachelor of Science in civil and structural engineering from the University of Natal in South Africa.
