Florida Hospital Opens Two New Women’s Health Facilities in Winter Park and Celebration

ORLANDO, Fla. — Florida Hospital is expanding its services to women throughout Central Florida with the opening of two new women’s health facilities, Florida Hospital for Women – Winter Park and Celebration Health Women’s Institute. The two new buildings mark the first major milestone in women’s health for Florida Hospital after plans were announced in September 2012 to build these two new facilities in addition to a brand new hospital, Florida Hospital for Women, which is located on the Orlando campus and is set to open in 2015. These projects mark the largest commitment to women’s services in the history of Florida Hospital.

“With the expansion of Florida Hospital’s women services across Central Florida, more women will now have care closer to home,” said Marla Silliman, senior vice president of women’s services at Florida Hospital. “We also know women are extremely busy and are more likely to put their own health concerns on hold. By putting services in more convenient locations we hope to make access to care easier.”

Celebration Health Women’s Institute
The Celebration Health Women’s Institute, located at Florida Hospital Celebration Health, will provide access to world-class physicians focused on providing superior care to women of all ages.

“We saw a need to create new services for women that bring innovative and personalized medical care together,” said Dr. Monica Reed, administrator of Florida Hospital Celebration Health. “We are thrilled that women in our community will now have additional access to world class physician specialists.”

The 80,000-square-foot facility will house physician practices specializing in women’s imaging services, breast surgery, advanced gynecologic surgery and obstetrics. The Preventative Medicine and Genetic Center is also housed at the Celebration Health Women’s Institute  and features a comprehensive team of physicians working together to prevent cancer.  The center has a special focus on BRCA 1 & 2 genetic mutations and Lynch Syndrome. Florida Hospital Celebration Health is one of few locations where surgeons join together in the operating room to perform breast and gynecologic surgeries simultaneously.

Florida Hospital for Women – Winter Park
Florida Hospital for Women – Winter Park, located at Winter Park Memorial Hospital, is a one-stop boutique center for health and wellness designed exclusively for women.
“We clearly heard from our community there is a strong need to have a comprehensive one-stop health care facility designed just for women,” said Ken Bradley, administrator at Winter Park Memorial Hospital. “We are so excited that this facility will fulfill that need and provide women with comprehensive access to a variety of physician specialists.”

Women will have access to specialists in the following areas: advanced gynecologic surgery, menopause, nutrition, breast health, imaging, uro-gynceology, cardiology, digestive health and a comprehensive health assessment. Women will also have access to a life designer, who is a specially trained registered nurse who provides a personalized approach to health and wellness care to meet the needs of the busy woman.
