    Stevens Construction Inc. Wins Grand Aurora Award, Best in 12 States

    FORT MYERS, Fla. — For the seventh consecutive year, Stevens Construction has won an Aurora Award at the Southeast Builder’s Conference. The Aurora Awards honor the best in construction in a 12-state region. For the fifth consecutive year, the company was also presented with a Grand Aurora Award, which recognizes the best project within an entire category.

    Center for Specialized Surgery - Aurora Award RIn a ceremony held on July 13 in Orlando, Fla., Stevens Construction earned an Aurora Award and the Grand Aurora Award in the commercial healthcare category for construction of The Center for Specialized Surgery located in Fort Myers, Fla. The 9,102-square-foot surgery center features three operating rooms, step-down recovery, recovery, nurses’ station, consultation room, reception, staff lounge and administrative offices. The facility was licensed and inspected by the Agency for Healthcare Administration, which ensures regulatory compliance for healthcare facilities throughout Florida.

    The Stevens Construction team included project manager Dan Adams and project administrator Sue Ziegenfus. Christopher J. Lee Architects, Inc. was the architect of record.

    Entries were judged on design, quality of construction, unusual constraints, cost savings techniques and outstanding features.

    The company has earned fourteen Aurora Awards since 2007, five within the healthcare division, one within public works, two in the hospitality category and one renovation award.  In addition, Stevens Construction has earned the highest distinction, having been recognized with five Grand Auroras, which honor the best project within an entire category.
