Duke Realty Developing Two Outpatient Clinics in Texas

TEMPLE and WACO, Texas – Construction is moving at full speed on two Duke Realty-developed Scott & White Healthcare medical facilities that will be located adjacent to well-known hospitals in Temple and Waco, Texas.

Hospital-Temple, which first opened in 1904. Duke Realty is also developing the 37,000-square-foot, two-story Scott & White Cancer Center-Hillcrest next to the landmark Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center in Waco, Texas.

“The new Scott & White Cancer Center in Waco will provide an opportunity for patients to receive technologically advanced clinical cancer treatments, including radiation therapy, medical oncology and infusion chemotherapy, in a convenient, easily accessible outpatient location,” says Dr. Robert W. Pryor, Scott & White president and CEO.

Dr. Pryor added, “The new orthopedic clinic will represent another example of Scott & White’s commitment to the greater Central Texas community to provide the highest quality of physician-led healthcare services.”

Rich Couturier, senior vice president, healthcare development for Duke Realty, noted that his firm developed a Scott & White medical clinic in Marble Falls, Texas, which opened in early June, and is developing another Scott & White facility in College Station which is expected to be completed in the third quarter.

“We are proud to once again work with Scott & White Healthcare to bring much needed outpatient facilities to the residents of North Texas,” says Mr. Couturier. “We’re pleased that we’re assisting Scott & White in minimizing occupancy expenses and achieving a high speed to market while providing beautiful facilities that deliver a first-rate patient experience.”

Both the Temple and Waco facilities are owned by a Duke Realty Limited Partnership. The facilities will be managed by Scott & White. The orthopedic clinic is expected to be completed in October and the cancer center in November.

The architect for the orthopedic clinic in Temple is Dallas-based Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. and the general contractor is MEDCO Construction of Dallas. The architect for the cancer center in Waco is the Dallas office of HDR and the general contractor is JE Dunn, also of Dallas.
