10177 Rendering1 2011 08 10 RATLANTA, Ga. — Brasfield & Gorrie recently celebrated the topping out of the structure’s top floor of WellStar Paulding Hospital located outside Atlanta, Ga.

When completed, the hospital will total seven stories and 295,000 square feet. Also being constructed as part of this project are a 120,000-square-foot precast parking deck and a four-story, 82,220-square-foot medical office building. The hospital will house emergency exam rooms, pediatric emergency exam rooms, surgery suites, decentralized nursing stations, patient rooms, administrative offices and a café.

This is Brasfield & Gorrie’s 52nd project with WellStar Health System. CDH Partners, Inc. is the project architect.

WellStar Paulding Hospital broke ground in January 2012, and Brasfield & Gorrie completed geothermal drilling on the facility in November 2012.The hospital will be one of the nation’s first to be conditioned solely by geothermal energy.

WellStar Paulding Hospital is expected to open its doors to patients in April 2014.

“We are excited to reach the topping out mark and see significant progress on WellStar Paulding Hospital. Our relationship with WellStar has always been collaborative and strong, and we appreciate the opportunity to continue working with them. Our goal is to deliver a state-of-the-art facility that goes beyond meeting the healthcare needs of the Paulding community,” said Tate McKee, vice president and division manager at Brasfield & Gorrie.
