    Baptist Health Care Unveils New 42-Bed Surgical Facility

    Baptist Health Over the railing viewTrinity Health Group announces the completion of the Baptist Health Care $35-million expansion in Pensacola, Fla. The two-story, 32,000-square-foot addition features a new entrance and a state-of-the-art 42-bed surgical center. The facility began receiving patients last spring.

    The expansion, master planned and designed by Trinity Health Group, includes a new main entrance with convenient access. A second-floor with private waiting rooms provide family members real-time updates on the status of the patient at any given time during the entire surgical procedure, including the pre-and post-operative stages, through the installation of a patient-tracking system displayed on several flat screen TVs.  Baptist Health Hallway

    The expanded and updated operating rooms were designed to combine a variety of surgical services under one roof, including consolidation of pre/post operative services.

    The project architect was George Koper & Associates (Architect of Record).  Morette Company was the builder.

    The project highlights are:

    • New main entrance
    • Two-story main lobby
    • New family waiting areas
    • Baptist hospital pharmacy
    • 42 bed all private room pre- and post-procedural unit
    • Operating room expansion including six new digital operating rooms
    • Progressive care unit
    • Outpatient surgery
    • New public andpatient restrooms
    • Bistro, indoor and outdoor dining areas
    • Parking, landscape and green space
    • Updated public hallways, corridors and department entries

    The new facility was designed not only with the patients in mind, but with careful consideration to the comfort and convenience of family members as well.
