Lopez_Alba_RTAMPA, Fla. — Alba Lopez-Isa has joined Skanska USA as the director of healthcare planning and development.

A graduate of the University of Florida (Bachelor of Design) and Florida A&M University (Bachelor in Architecture), Lopez-Isa has nearly 30 years of experience in healthcare design and construction throughout the U.S. and Latin America. Prior to joining Skanska, she spent the last 15 years as a senior healthcare principal and project manager at Gresham, Smith and Partners in Tampa.

Lopez-Isa will support the Florida executive team with assisting clients to formulate a vision by focusing on program development, assist on facility master planning and estimated cost modeling. In addition, she will lead Skanska’s efforts in identifying and developing regional Design-Build and Integrated Project Delivery opportunities with existing and potential new clients.

Lopez-Isa has previously served on the Board of Directors and as vice chair (gubernatorial appointee) of the Tampa-Hillsborough County Expressway Authority. She has also served as the associate director for the Florida Central Chapter of the American Institute of Architects, is an active member of the AIA at the State and Federal levels and regularly participates in The Red Cross, Tampa Chamber of Commerce and Leadership Tampa.

“Alba has successfully delivered comprehensive professional services including project management, planning, design, construction documents and administration of executed healthcare projects throughout her career,” said Fred Hames, Florida general manager, Skanska. “We are excited to have her leading strategic initiatives and serving as our ambassador in the healthcare community.”
