Infusion Center at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center Wins Design Award

OLYMPIA, Wash. — The American Institute of Architects Northwest and Pacific Region (AIA NW&P Region) has awarded 16 projects for design excellence recently at a ceremony during the annual AIA NW&P Regional Conference held in Tucson, Ariz.

The award-winning projects include completed projects located in the United States, Canada, Japan and the United Kingdom. A total of 146 submittals were reviewed by a jury of three. Two projects received an Honor Award, six received Merit Awards, seven won Citations and two projects were given Special Jury Recognition.

Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, Brooklyn Infusion Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., was among the seven projects to win a citation award. The infusion center was designed by ZGF Architects.

The 2012 AIA NW&PR Design Awards jury consisted of Kevin Daly, FAIA of Daly Genik Architects, Santa Monica, CA; Eddie Jones, AIA, Jones Studio Inc., Phoenix, AZ; and Hsinming Fung, AIA, Hodgetts + Fung, Culver City, CA.
