NYU Langone Opens New Ambulatory Care Center

As part of its plan to expand access to a wide array of outpatient services, NYU Langone Medical Center has opened a new 327,000-square-foot Ambulatory Care Center at 240 E. 38th Street.

“Our new ambulatory facilities allow patients to receive expert care from NYU Langone physicians without having to go to the hospital, and the added benefit of access to the full-breadth of expert medical and surgical resources a few blocks away at our main campus if needed,” said Andrew Brotman, MD, senior vice president and vice dean for clinical affairs and strategy, chief clinical officer at NYU Langone Medical Center. “Our ambulatory locations are designed from the ground up with the patient in mind – from state-of-the-art technology, consumer friendly environments, expanded hours and, of course, access to the world-class care they rely on from our faculty.”

The Multiple Sclerosis Comprehensive Care Center was the first to move in to the new facility and began seeing patients earlier this month. Other programs and centers will be phased in over the next six to eight months and, when fully occupied, the ACC will be home to Rusk physical medicine and rehabilitation; an oncology infusion center; the Ronald O. Perelman Department of Dermatology; pain center, outpatient endoscopy; neurology; the vein center, other Faculty Group Practices including ENT, nephrology; and pre-admission testing.

The ACC continues NYU Langone’s commitment to providing their patients enhanced access to care in the neighborhoods where they live and work, from the Upper East Side to Wall Street, and from Brooklyn, Queens and Long Island to Westchester.

NYU Langone is one of the nation’s premier academic medical centers and is consistently ranked among the best in the country for the orthopedics, rheumatology, rehabilitation, neurosurgery and neurology in the U.S. News & World Report’s annual survey of “Best Hospitals” in America.
