HOK Appoints Nancy Hamilton Director of Engineering Services

Nancy_Hamilton_Preferred_9079_Low_ResCHICAGO, Ill. –Nancy Hamilton, S.E., P.E., has joined HOK as director of engineering services. Based in Chicago, she leads HOK’s firm-wide MEP and structural engineering group.

Hamilton comes to HOK with 24 years in leadership roles at industry leader Arup. While with Arup, her healthcare experience included working on the St. Frances Medical Center Patient Services Pavilion in Lynwood, Calif. She also completed work on Kaiser Permanente Fontana Medical Center.

“Engineering services are a very important part of what we offer our clients,” said HOK President Bill Hellmuth, AIA. “Nancy’s arrival allows us to continue expanding our engineering practice in order to deliver the maximum benefit to our clients with buildings that exhibit design excellence.”

Hamilton is a national expert in creating high-performance, integrated building engineering design solutions. She has been the building engineering leader and lead structural engineer on dozens of complex, high-profile projects, including healthcare facilities.

“A seamless integration of architecture and engineering ensures the greatest return on investment for building owners,” said Hamilton. “HOK’s focus on building performance and use of Building Information Modeling tools and Integrated Project Delivery methods puts the interests of our clients first.”

“An expanded and integrated engineering practice – including structural, MEP, building enclosures and energy modeling – aligns with HOK’s core values of great design, sustainable solutions and the use of our buildingSMART tools to achieve those results,” said Carl Galioto, FAIA, managing principal of HOK’s New York office and leader of the firm’s buildingSMART initiative.
